Reiki in Kingsteignton: drop down to a deeper level of peace and relaxation Reiki is an incredibly relaxing, gentle and calming experience. It's a Japanese technique developed by Mikao Usui, based on the idea that we all carry a life force energy that can become low or unbalanced through stress, illness or emotional strain. Working with this energy, you simply lie comfortably on the treatment bed or in a chair while my hands are placed on or just above certain areas of your body. What to expect You stay fully clothed, and you only need to take your shoes off for comfort. Very calming music is played, and there are cosy blankets, with a heated blanket in the winter. Eye pillows are available, and we can end with chakra cards if you'd like. Clients often report deep relaxation, feelings of heat and warmth, and a sense of peace and wellbeing. Many leave feeling calmer, lighter and more balanced. Optional extras This hour-long treatment can begin and end with a foot massage to help ground you, if you'd like. It can also include gentle facial acupressure, along with reflexology pressure points on the hands and feet. Why do people book Reiki? Clients book when they want to switch off, slow down or have a calming hour for themselves, especially during busy or stressful times. Many clients find it brings a sense of release if they've been holding on to worries or stress. Reiki is a complementary therapy, so it sits alongside medical care and doesn't replace it. First visit Your first visit starts with a free 15 minute consultation, on top of your treatment, so we can talk about how you're feeling and what you'd like from the session. Afterwards you'll be offered a herbal tea or water. How often should I come? Reiki can be whenever you feel you need it, and monthly is great. Who is it for? Reiki suits most people.
